    • What type of pool heater to purchase?

      If you have a pool heater that is no longer functional the most practical option is to replace it with the same type because in most cases only minor piping changes are required thereby keeping installation costs low.

      If you do not currently have a pool heater you should consider the following before choosing a type of heater to install;

      •Purchase Cost
      •Installation Cost
      •Operating / Fuel Costs
      •Expected cost of repairs over the life of the unit
      •How quickly it will heat your pool

      Gas Heaters

      Propane heaters (or natural gas if present on your property) are reasonably priced, are very reliable, are not expensive to service and most of all heat your pool far faster than any other system.

      Electric heaters

      Electric heaters are inexpensive to purchase and service but the electrical supply to the unit is very expensive if not already present. They are not very powerful so in order to maintain the temperature of your pool you almost need to have the heater on continuously.

      Heat Pumps

      Heat pumps are very expensive to purchase and to service. They also heat your pool very slowly especially in the spring and fall when you need the heat most. Many firms (especially those employing commissioned salespersons!!!) try to convince you that heat pumps are the way to go because they claim they are inexpensive to operate but in fact heat pumps use as much electricity as an electric heater though heat pumps are much more efficient.
